Two weeks into the holiday season and my boss has yet to approve my request for an extended vacation leave. I plan to be home with my family who are miles away from where I work but until I get my boss’ thumbs up, I am unable to finalize my plans. For now, my assumption is that he would swamp me with work, and thus, won’t allow me to go on vacation. But a part of me still believes he’ll stop being a Scrooge at some point and will later on just decide to let me go.
